Find a Question:
Dutch telecom retailer The Phone House closes 50 stores’
The Dutch independent telecom retailer The Phone House is about 50 of its 160 stores closed and more than 200 people redundant. That is, two independent sources against Tweakers. The staff has been informed.
It is still unknown which 50 stores The Phone House exactly will close. To be announced in September, says one of the sources. The reorganization is necessary because The Phone House in its first quarter of this financial year, which corresponds to this spring, has achieved poor results.
Forty of the redundancies at head office, another 170 job losses at the stores. Anything less than a third of the shops will close. The management staff has briefed Tuesday morning. The reorganization should be completed by next year end of March.
The Phone House is the largest independent retailer in the telecom industry with its own shops. Former competitors as Belcompany and T for Telecom have now become part of providers. A spokeswoman for the telecom retailer does not respond opposite Tweakers.
