EA sets Battlefield 5 with a month until November 20

EA will not release Battlefield 5 on October 19, as planned initially, but on November 20th. As the reason for the postponement, the publisher mentions that more time is needed for the latest improvements to the gameplay and Tides of War.

EA says that it has received a lot of feedback from the alpha tests and the play sessions at the E3 and GamesCom. This would show that improvement is needed with the coregameplay. Among other things, the pace and visibility of soldiers had to improve, so players indicated.

EA also wants to use the time to optimize Tides of War. This is a continuous story in the Second World War that players go through with their composite company and that every couple of months gets a new chapter. According to EA, the first adjustments are to be in the open beta of Battlefield 5. This starts 6 September.

The original release date of October 19 was between that of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, October 12, and Red Dead Redemption 2, which appears October 26th. Cowen analyst firm cited this with its claim that the number of pre-orders from Battlefield 5 are relatively low and less than those for CoD and Red Dead Redemption 2. A WSJ journalist calls Cowens claim in a message about the departure of Patrick Söderlund, executive vice president of EA Worldwide Studios and former CEO of DICE, creator of the Battlefield games.

Tweakers published this week the preview Battlefield 5 – Strijd in the streets of Rotterdam .
