Early version CyanogenMod 13 is for OnePlus X

Owners of a OnePlus X may have recently installed the Android 6.0-based CyanogenMod 13 on their device. The first early version, called nightly, has been put online by Cyanogen ROM builder. It is likely that the software still does not operate stably.

The first version of CyanogenMod 13 for the OnePlus X appeared Saturday on the download pages of Cyanogen. Thus users can therefore install an alternative to the Oxygen OS developed by OnePlus itself. Probably, however, it will take some months before it is put a stable version online. However, the release of the nightly shows that therefore ‘official’ support comes for the OnePlus X.

Where the OnePlus One have been preinstalled with software from Cyanogen, the Chinese smartphone maker for its X and OnePlus OnePlus Two switched to its own Oxygen OS. Incidentally, both software packages are based on Android. The reason for the change was that there was disagreement arise between Cyanogen and OnePlus.

The OnePlus One received an update to version 13 of the Cyanogen software, if it is not received at all. In this case is not about CyanogenMod, but Cyanogen OS; which is the name that is used in case the software on the respective smartphone preinstalled. CyanogenMod has to be manually put on the smartphone, which the protection must be unlocked in many cases first.
