Elia want to ask owners of solar panels charge

Elia Infrax wants consumers and businesses who have installed solar panels to pay in the form of a capacity charge more. This amount should be based on the required output based.

That says Frank Vanbrabant, the new director of Infrax. Vanbrabant believes that owners of solar panels should contribute to the costs of the Belgian electricity network. The CEO believes that a rate based on kilowatt-hour “no longer corresponds to our costs,” and therefore calls for reform of network charges. “In this way, owners of solar panels contribute to the costs of our networks,” said the director of Infrax.

Infrax want to calculate the rates to a customer take the power output as a base. 80 percent of households in Belgium 10 amps would be sufficient. The fee they have to pay will be equal to the current netvergoeding.

Customers who need more power, so as to connect with a heavier install their solar panels to the power supply would have to pay to the operator in the form of an additional levy more. Infrax says that the cost of maintenance and investment in the Belgian grid in a fairer manner be divided in this way. The company believes that the next two to three years, a decision will still fall. About here
