Elon Musk expects 2025 to sell millions of Tesla cars per year
The CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, has announced that the company in 2025 to produce at least a few million electric cars per year. In addition, Musk announced that Tesla will be the first car manufacturer to bring fully self-propelled vehicles on the market.
Musk made his remarks at the Automotive News World Congress, reports Reuters. In 2020, the production must be increased to 500,000 cars per year, to produce a few million cars per year by 2025. Musk uttered while the expectation that the company from 2020 will be profitable. Tesla last year sold 33,000 cars, the production must increase by fifty percent in the coming year and all vehicles will be produced, are already sold.
Crucial to the huge increase is the introduction of Tesla Model 3 , which will take place in 2017. This model is an entirely new design and probably around 35,000 euros will cost. Model 3 is the fourth model of Tesla and will be smaller than the Model S. In the summer of 2015 Tesla also will release the larger Model X, a sports utility vehicle.
Detroit Musk also suggested that Tesla will be the first automaker that produces cars that can fully autonomous driving. Earlier Musk gave all that the cars Tesla within five to six years self driving. Tesla will in the coming years to expand the autopilot function phased in its cars.
