Enthusiast showed how Instagram photos spoils, making 90 republications one picture [video]

Artist Pete Ashton decided to prove the original way that impairs Instagram photos published in social networks: he census the same picture 90 times, and then compare the results with the original image.

Creative experiment Ashton called «I am Sitting In Stagram». He posted a picture on the service with the iPhone, then make a screenshot of the screen and to publish the picture again – and so 90 times. As a result, the composer Alvin Lucier picture, which at one time did a similar experiment with the audio recording of his voice, turned into an indistinguishable noise has little in common with the original frame.

Ashton has also published a video of the process. As can be seen in the video, with each new photo placement is becoming more and more so-called compression artifacts, and towards the end of the experiment the original image was barely discernible.

Experiment Ashton became a kind of repetition of Alvin Lucier work. It musician wrote the way he reads the same text, and applies each new record to the previous long until the film could only hear the noise.
