Find a Question:
EO is broadcast Fri livestream TV show
Simultaneously with the show The Passion on TV the Evangelical Broadcasting broadcasts on March 24 a Fri-stream of the performance of the play. The 360-degree stream is available in a specially designed EO VR app.
To realize the VR stream EO has enlisted the help of Seymour360. That company, which specializes in 360-degree VR videos, used a specially designed camera for recording. Creative director Bas Meuleman tells Tweakers the camera while carrying on a fixed point is next to the band, so that not too much in the picture comes to making regular television images.
The camera that the company uses customized and equipped with two sensors and two CMV4000 Fisheye, each with a viewing angle of 190 degrees. The CMOS chips from the Belgian Cmosis each have a resolution of 2048×2048 pixels. The maximum resolution that can handle the camera live images is 3560×1780 pixels at 30fps. For The Passion held an output of 2048×1024 pixels. The encoding of the video is done with open source software Open Broadcaster and the stream is served on a cdn Wowza.
The stream is available with a VR glasses such as cardboard from the EO VR app for Android and iOS. Also see the stream without glasses as a regular 360-degree video, which can be moved by the image by moving the smartphone or tablet being used.
Seymour360 also built a web player that allows you to view the stream. According Meuleman was making a private player is necessary because, for example YouTube, the combination of live streams and 360-degree video is not supported yet.
The Evangelical Broadcasting is the first broadcaster in the Netherlands is experimenting with 360-degree video. The broadcaster wants the EO VR app in the future more often bet. Possibly, more broadcasters Fri streams to work; Meuleman says he is in talks with include RTL and NOS, but concrete plans are not there yet. On March 24 at 20:30 you can see the Sun-stream simultaneously with the live broadcast on NPO 1.Viewing:-126
