ESL adds Unreal Tournament as esport
The Electronic Sports League has announced that Unreal Tournament 4 pre-alpha is added as a supported esport. The company puts the competition with the help of six experienced admins and Epic Games.
The new Unreal Tournament has been playable since August last year, but is still far from complete. Nevertheless, ESL announced to organize competitions around the game, in conjunction with developer Epic Games and six administrators. The selected admins for Unreal Tournament competitions have experience with ESL and the competitive Unreal Tournament community. The first competitions come to Europe and North America and ESL indicates to provide more information about these events in a few weeks.
How can cooperation with ESL will affect the development of the game is unknown, but ESL does indicate that Unreal Tournament all four competitions the Anti-Cheat client will support. Unreal Tournament 4 is currently in pre-alpha stage, meaning it has not yet developed all the parts of the game. Nevertheless, the game is already playable, partly because Epic Games Unreal Tournament 4 in cooperation with the community.
