European Commission pauses acquisition research Ziggo




The European Commission has temporarily halted the investigation into the acquisition of Ziggo by UPC parent company Liberty Global. The committee has asked for additional information; until that information is received, the study goes further.

Ziggo According to Reuters, his ‘new facts’ come to light that are important for the acquisition research, and raising questions. It is not clear what kind of information it is. The European Commission has Liberty Global, the parent company of UPC, following new revelations that asked for more information, but that is not yet delivered. Until that happens, they stopped the investigation.

It is unclear what that means for the acquisition of Ziggo by Liberty Global. The European Commission intends to complete the acquisition in October off; it is unclear whether that is still going to work. A spokesman for Liberty Global said to have good confidence that the takeover this year will still be approved.

Liberty Global announced earlier this year that the Ziggo wants to take over . After the takeover go Ziggo and UPC through one provider, under the banner of Ziggo.
