European Parliament will attend the hearing of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg live streams

European Parliament will be conducting the hearing with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The chairman of parliament has announced this. The hearing will take place on Tuesday evening.

Parliament chairman Antonio Tajani says on Twitter that Zuckerberg also agrees to live stream the hearing. The intention was initially to have the meeting take place behind closed doors, but parliamentarians did not agree with it.

Zuckerberg comes to the European Parliament to explain the use of private data on Facebook, as he previously did in the US House of Representatives and a Senate committee. Zuckerberg said no to the British parliament, the country where Cambridge Analytica came from. The fuss surrounding the use of private data arose when it turned out that Cambridge Analytics had bought and used data from 87 million Facebook users in the presidential election in the United States. With targeted advertisements, Cambridge tried to persuade Americans to vote for Donald Trump.

The European Parliament wants Zuckerberg to explain how Facebook deals with user data. Moreover, the parliament will talk about how other countries could interfere in elections of member states via fake news on Facebook. The hearing will take place on Tuesday from 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm, says Tajani.
