Ever Display shows 6 “-oled screen with 4K resolution

The company Ever Display has shown an OLED display with 4K resolution for mobile devices. The 6 “screen has 734 pixels per inch and Ever Display mainly sees applications in VR goggles and smartphones.

It is the first publicly shown OLED display for mobile devices, claims the company. It was rumored this spring that Samsung screen with 4K resolution in its Note 5 would screws but recent rumors suggest that it refers to an OLED screen with 2560×1440 pixels, just like the current Note 4 . The OLED screen highest pixel density so far is the display of the Galaxy S6 , with 2560×1440 pixels 5.1 “comes out around 575 ppi.

Ever Display mainly sees applications in VR. Due to the small distance between the screen and the face, users in the current resolutions can still distinguish pixels in the image, something that at 4K resolution must be as good as possible. OLED screens are due to the high contrast and deep blacks ideal for Fri.

There have already been demonstrated with LCDs such high ppi values. Sharp previously showed a 4k screen 5.5 “. Samsung wants to develop screens to 2250 ppi few years.
