Exclusive: Hands On with the Project S – Octa-core and WQHD resolution for $ 299
About two weeks ago I reported on a really interesting project on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo – Project S . smartphone has it done to me so much that I was the Taiwanese company Bungbungame in Taipei paid a visit to me to look at the prototype. Here is my exclusive Hands On Video.
Since I was anyway by chance in Taipei, I wrote the company shortly after my article about the crowdfunding project on whether it would be possible, at least once to look at the prototype of Project S detail. I did not have to wait long and got the commitment. Bungbungame has already successfully launched two tablets on the market and the company has been around since 2008.
While other manufacturers for their prototypes like cheap plastic or even wood (yes I had ever) use Bungbungame the final material has here the same used, glass and aluminum. It keeps itself already very good in the hand, because the aluminum on the edge is concave and thus very ergonomic. On the right side the slots for the SIM card and microSD card reader, and the microUSB port, volume buttons and the headphone jack are located were housed here. On the top, only the power button with an integrated infrared LED is to be used as a universal remote control for your smartphone.
The design has it taken it simple and easy to hold, but with some fine details. The surfaces on the front and back should be “clean”, the CEO did not want a notch for the speaker on the screen or buttons below the display. Speakers and microphones have been incorporated and hidden in the design, in the video you can see it. On the back there is still the company logo of Bungbungame, this should disappear at the final model in order to keep the back clean and simple. On the back there is only then the 16-megapixel camera with LED light. The special feature of the smartphone is surely the display with a diagonal of 5.8 inches and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD) and the octa-core processor (manufacturer is not yet known, maybe you are still in negotiations).
At a price of $ 299 smartphone with the required performance and the materials used is an absolute no-brainer, I even slammed twice. I hope you still support many other interested this project, it is still about a month for it!
