Facebook, Apple and YouTube remove content from controversial Alex Jones

Facebook, Apple and YouTube have removed podcasts, pages and video channels from Alex Jones from their platforms. Jones is a very conservative American presenter of a radio show that often puts minorities away and deals with, among other things, fake news.

Facebook reports that it has removed the pages of Alex Jones Channel, Alex Jones, InfoWars and Infowars Nightly News, because on these pages in the past few days content has been published that violates the Community Standards of Facebook. According to Facebook, violence is glorified on the pages and inhumane language is used to characterize, for example, Muslims, transgenders and immigrants. The pages are not completely removed, but for the time being only made invisible to the public. Jones still gets the chance to appeal against Facebook’s decision.

Apple has also confirmed , according to CNBC , that it removed five of the six podcasts from Jones’ The Alex Show. Many InfoWars podcasts have also been removed. Spotify has previously also removed content from Jones and recently YouTube has done the same. Google has stopped The Alex Jones Channel, although the company does not report the exact reason. Google tells Google that such a measure can be taken when users hate to sow.

Alex Jones is a very right-wing, conservative American who, among other things, deals with the spread of conspiracy theories and fake news. He claimed, for example, that the shooting in the American Sandy Hook school did not take place. Facebook was criticized earlier because it did not adequately act against the content of Alex Jones. Previously, the Jones platform was denied for thirty days because his publications were in conflict with the standards used by Facebook.
