Facebook introduces stand-alone web version of Messenger




Facebook has a stand-alone web version created for Facebook Messenger. Which is accessible without a user having to open Facebook. Before Facebook came with stand-alone Messenger apps for mobile platforms.

The stand-alone web app can be reached via the new domain Messenger.com . Users must log in with their Facebook credentials, but then can without having to go to Facebook chat with their contacts. The Messenger function can also be called from Facebook.

Previously, Facebook already standalone Messenger apps for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Some time after the introduction of those apps deleted Facebook Messenger functionality of the Facebook application. Facebook or something similar plans with the web version of Facebook, is unknown. The stand-alone version of Messenger for desktops deleted Facebook last year.

Research by Pew Research show that Facebook is still popular among teenagers. The US research, which focuses only on use in the United States, shows that 71 percent of Facebook is by far the most popular social network, writes Recode.
