Facebook launched today a new version for children under the age of 13 years of application “Facebook Messenger” for users in the United States.

The new Facebook Messenger Kids application comes as a shortened version of the mechanism of work compared to the basic application version, and the biggest difference is the redesign of the application taking into account the mechanisms of parental control in mind.

Parental control is the mechanism of the application itself. It is the parents who prepare the accounts for their children, and the children can only speak with a list of friends “pre-prepared” by parents, including relatives who have an account on Facebook Messenger Standard Messenger, or friends They are carefully chosen by parents. The main interface of the app shows a list of names that children can talk to and show who is currently connected.

Facebook Messenger Kids supports augmented reality technology, and also allows users to access stickers and masks appropriate for the age group of children under the age of 13, and includes a number of GIF animations. The application also provides children with the ability to send text messages and images. The app does not provide in-app purchase, preventing children from using their parents’ credit cards to buy games or advanced game stages.

Facebook Messenger Kids is available today for iPhone, iPad or iPad Touch devices . You can start downloading the app on your child’s device from the Apple Store for apps and authentication by using a private parent account.
