Facebook Messenger has half a billion active users

Facebook now has half a billion users using at least monthly Messenger. That made the US company announced Monday. Facebook would also spend the next few months, more features to the service.

Facebook began three years ago with Messenger. Now 500 million active users now use the chat application, so let a top executive know. With “active” he is referring to users who communicate at least once a month through the service.

That seems Facebook WhatsApp regard to use to sit on the heels. WhatsApp, which this year adopted by the social networking site, said in August, namely that the service still has 600 million active users. However, the US company had thereby not know how active users; so it is not known whether this number refers to, for example, users who use WhatsApp monthly.

The Facebook CEO who made the announcement Monday, David Marcus, went on to loose that Facebook rolls out for Messenger in the coming months’ more innovation and updates. Thus it seems that there is more to follow functionalities. This is in line with the discovery that Facebook Messenger presumably the possibility receives payments to be carried out between friends.
