Facebook testfeed report for festival

Facebook has begun testing a service where users updates, photos and videos from a festival or other live events to follow. Currently, many people follow events through competitors like Twitter.

The feature is located under Place Tips, a feature that has been around longer, which gives users information about the current location. With Place Tips Lollapalooza users could first remotely follow the American Lollapalooza festival, reports business newspaper The Wall Street Journal based on information from Facebook itself.

The feed contains photos and movies of visitors and information about the schedule, updates from playing bands and more. It was a test, and it is unknown if and when Facebook wants to introduce the function on other live events. Many users now follow events via Chat or via Snap searching hashtag on Twitter. Both social media come in the next time with features to better monitor events remotely.
