Far Cry 4 Preview – Kyrat first extensively explored

Twice before we saw Far Cry 4 are over. At E3, we found that the game especially a lot of the same offered as predecessor Far Cry 3, while at Gamescom something of differentiation that we saw so much wanted to see. The fear was, that Far Cry 4, apart from a new setting and a new character, still very much a repeat exercise of Far Cry 3 could be mainly. Thanks particularly to the Shangri-La gameplay that we could experience during Gamescom that fear became a whole lot removed. The only downside is that piece of gameplay said little about the rest of the game. All the more reason to be glad that we finally have some more extensive on the go with Far Cry 4, as was the case recently in Paris.

Played on: PlayStation 4
Also appears: One Xbox, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

If we need to draw on the basis of the three hours we were able to play in Paris, one hard, but fair conclusion than it is that Far Cry 4 indeed looks a lot like its predecessor. Ubisoft did not bother to find out the wheel. Again you become as a player released into the wild. Allows for the implementation that this wilderness is now on an island, but somewhere on the edge of the Himalayas in a fictional kingdom is put down, little difference. Still, there are two factions, outposts, an impressive collection of wild animals, radio towers, and so on. The names differ sometimes, but the gameplay elements are hassle to link parts of Far Cry 3.

This results in no way a bad game, but it feels a little too easily. Well, we know from the Shangri-La-levels, but there must be more. Consciously or unconsciously you go a little to find the witticisms, to the places where it has made Ubisoft compared Far Cry 3 In making choices within the story that difference is one of those items found. At certain moments in the game, which happens to be a fairly early in our play session took place, Ubisoft allows the player to make a choice between two options. In this case the player had a mission start, but follow the plan of one of two characters for the completion of the mission. The choice of whose plan you follow thereby affects – logically – your mission, but also details in later missions change based on your choice.

The second part that Far Cry 4 clearly shows taking its predecessor distance cooperative gameplay. Far Cry 4 is almost completely to play as a couple. That is, you can if you want to do that all parts in the open world with a friend. You can outposts and forts occupy, hunt animals, and perform numerous other optional missions. The only thing that is lost when you play with a friend along the story missions. That you really have to play your own. Furthermore, you can do so all along. Progress you make with someone else then also be seen in your own single player. So if you have a friend with a fort occupied, then that fort already unlocked if you then continue on your own.

In Paris we had ample opportunity both just play to try the co-op and it may be said: the two of the game world by thrusting while you’ve won a car with a mounted machine gun is very nice. Playing with a journalist from Power Unlimited, we made our way along several outposts, and eventually even to believe that was actually a bit above our level. Heavily protected fortress We can already tell you that taking such a fort guarantees an extremely spectacular battle, where you even against armed helicopters should take.
