Federal Trade Commission drags Qualcomm to court
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is against Qualcomm . According to the FTC, the chip manufacturer provides for the monopolization of certain smartphone components (baseband processors) according to the anti-competitive measures. By combining several components, it requires more license payments than for so-called FRAND patents. Qualcomm places the business partner’s pistol on his chest, sells corresponding parts only, even if the increased fees are paid. On the other hand, the competition places Qualcomm on the FRAND patents only at conditions that are not appropriate, the competition turns out almost directly.
