Preliminary results of the study were presented at the conference Communication 2013 , which began on August 13, 2013 in Hong Kong.
Sensors may be mounted in virtually any material. For example, sensors, integrated into the structure of the bridge can control the condition of concrete and steel, from which it is made. Testing devices based on new technology
The scientists tested the new technology on prototypes of devices the size of a payment card. The devices were placed at a distance “a few feet of each other.” Each unit is equipped with an antenna and printed circuit boards, as well as the LED that lights up when receiving a signal from the second device.
Sets of devices were tested in a residential area, on the streets and in the upper level of underground parking. The distance from the television tower ranged from ~ 800 m to ~ 10 kilometers 460 meters.
It has been found that the devices can exchange information with each other even at a considerable distance from a television tower at a rate of 1 kbps.
