Mozilla comes with a feature in Firefox for “container-tabs. The containers have their own cookies, cache, IndexedDB and local storage, allowing, for example log with multiple Twitter accounts in different tabs.

The tabs do share among others, the history, stored passwords and permissions, with which the function is distinct from, for example, browsing in incognito mode. Mozilla separates the tabs with a color cast on top.

The separation of cache and cookies, it is possible to log in to multiple accounts, such as work and home. Moreover, it suggests Mozilla, users can create a shopping container ‘for everything related to online purchases. Retargeting ads with products that the user has searched for, are therefore confined to that container.

The feature has appeared in the Nightly version for developers. It still is an experiment. This autumn there will be a test in the Test Pilot -add-on. At the earliest after the function in the stable version of the browser.
