Firefox OS developer will port interface for Android out

A developer is working on a home screen that brings the Gaia interface of Firefox OS to Android. A first early test version of the software, called B2gdroid, he has been put online.

Developer Fabrice Desré normally works for Mozilla Firefox OS, the organization of the mobile operating system. As an experiment, he has now put an alternative homescreen app online interface that allows the OS porting to Android.

Desré has published an early version, but the software is still far off. So the software only works on arm processors and no x86 devices. The software provides many bugs; include the phonebook and the call-supplied applications to work. Furthermore B2gdroid not replace all the standard icons of Android, draw someone from GSMarena.

It is not yet known exactly what Desré the software is planning and if he continues to work. Who alternative homescreen want to try do so by downloading a .apk file of about 65MB and install on Android. Instructions are available on the website of Desré.
