You have found the job you have always dreamed of and the qualifications you enjoy are well suited to job description. But how do you make sure to differentiate yourself from other competitors in the eyes of the employers looking at hundreds of files in search of the right candidate?A few tips on what file providers are looking for on LinkedIn.

Justin Maguire, executive director of MCG, a digital and creative recruitment company, gives some advice on what candidates are looking for on LinkedIn files and what candidates can do to be impressed:

1- Pictures:

Instagram and Facebook images can not be used in the professional file. Also, avoid obscene images of Dalal, and use a modern image. If you have thirty years of experience, others will notice that you are using a picture dating back to your high school graduation! Do not forget that your image is a first impression and therefore very important.

2- Clear job title:

I have seen many functional titles, including “visionary leader” and “business winner”, which in fact means nothing at all and does not indicate what you are doing. Use a clear name that describes the nature of your work in a simple and obvious way. This contributes to the appearance of your file in the search and find the recruitment agencies when you have a job that suits you.

3- Details:

After viewing your photo and career title, go to read the details of your current job and previous positions. Always make sure to complete this paragraph. I see many files where candidates only mention their job names. This is a serious mistake in my opinion. We would like to see details such as responsibilities and achievements, and a detailed personal summary that allows employers to know your thoughts, opinions and what you would like to do in your work, making you distinct from others.

4. Recommendations and groups:

Review your work, recommendations and best evidence for your achievements. I personally pay attention to the detailed recommendation that goes beyond one line, since it must consist of at least one section and be issued by a reliable authority. Also, familiarize yourself with the groups and organizations you follow because I am discovering in this detail your true identity, your interests and the nature of your ambitions.

5 – Finally and most importantly:

Make sure that you want to be noticed by others, to express your openness to new opportunities . This complements all of the above, hoping that the jobs you find will match your professional expectations.
