First Intel Haswell-Celerons for desktops become available

The first two Celeron processors in the Haswell generation of desktops have appeared in shops. The specifications of the Celeron G1820 and G1830 are similar to those of the Celeron G1620 and G1630, that the Ivy Bridge generation.

The first Celerons based on the Haswell architecture should really only appear in the first quarter of 2014, but they are already offered by various online shops, noted CPUs World. It is the boxed processors Celeron G1820 and G1830, while the G1820T for oems coming.

The G1820 and G1830 have clock speeds of 2.7 GHz and 2.8 GHz, respectively, and the specifications are similar to those of its predecessors, the Celeron G1620 and G1630. They also have similar TDP, but the Haswell architecture must ensure in practice for lower consumption. The chips should also slightly outperform the Ivy Bridge variants.

Improvements to the GPU are not there: the new chips have as their predecessors over the standard HD Graphics video chip. The Celeron processors are budget chips from Intel. They miss include support for Turbo Boost and Hyper Threading.
