Find a Question:
Flash comparison – What is the fastest storage?
Over the years, we have plenty of solid state drives reviewed, but a comparison of these SSDs with older drives we’ve never made before. About time to change this and to organize. Around a shoot-out storage We gave one evolutionary line of storage media selected from the slowest to the fastest drives.
At one end of the spectrum we have hard drives of 2.5 “and 3.5”, like those found in desktops and laptops, subject to our standard protocol for storage products. On the other hand we have tested flash-based storage. It is now very easy to find renewal. Years had solid state drives with SATA interface standard, but nowadays there is increasing variation in interfaces. We have not only tested SATA drives, as well as m2-SSD with PCI-Express connectors, two and four lanes.
The bridge between storage capacity and speed to be beaten by a piece of hard drives with flash memory as a caching layer. Also, this type of storage we have a 2.5 – tested variant “and 3.5”. So we can finally answer the question: what type of storage for consumers is the fastest and how much faster than slower alternatives is that?Viewing:-132
