Flemish social network Netlog stops

The social network Netlog, which was especially popular in Flanders, will cease. The operators inform the users about stopping the social network. Netlog has lost the competition of rival Facebook.

Parent company Massive Media has to redirect the URL of Netlog dating Twoo, writes the Flemish newspaper De Morgen. Netlog has let users know that they can download information from their account. All accounts automatically to Twoo.

Netlog is known as the Flemish counterpart of the Dutch Hyves, which is also the competition lost had to close the doors and Facebook. Netlog has been active in twenty countries. The site has, according to De Morgen currently 94 million accounts.
