FlexSense: a whole new way of using the tablet from Microsoft

When Microsoft encourages its engineers to think outside the box, some of their ideas really get very exciting . Research unit of Microsoft Research has demonstrated remarkable transparencies called FlexSense, which provides a completely new method of interaction with the tablets.

The device is built of thin sensors are printed directly on the surface of a plastic film, which may take any form. Thus, due to these sensors, all forms of deformation of the film can be read by a computer, without the use of cameras or any other type of external tracking said resource Gizmodo.

Developers from Microsoft Research argue that FlexSense can be used with existing technologies, providing some applications completely new possibilities. For example, when editing images in Photoshop on the film can be output filter applied to the image, and when pulling away of the film, the user can see the original image.

Like photo editing, FlexSense can use vedeoredaktory during overlapping textures on video.

However FlexSense can be used not only as a film on the tablet. Due to the precise tracking surface bends, the device may find application in interactive games. During the demonstration, Microsoft Research experts have shown how you can use FlexSense flight control birds.

While nobody knows whether FlexSense widespread, but some methods of application are pretty interesting. View Miracle film in the action you can in the video below.
