Ford cars of year 2016 will be supported by CarPlay 5

If you bought a Ford car last year and envy the owners of the latest models that can install the CarPlay system, then we have good news for you. The American automaker said that it has released a software update that will allow to equip the entire model line of the year not only CarPlay, but also Android Auto.

Recall that to work CarPlay you need the iPhone 5 or the newest, running on iOS 7.1 or the latest. You can install a new firmware on the car either in the nearest official workshop or on your own. To do this, you need to download via Wi-Fi or USB flash drive the necessary files from the official Ford site and then install them on the machine.

CarPlay technology is already available on all Ford cars in 2017, and a fresh update will make it compatible with another 800,000 cars that came out last year. If you bought Ford last year, we congratulate you and advise you to take advantage of CarPlay as soon as possible.
