Former head Rockstar North demanded $ 150 million Take-Two

Leslie Benzies who until recently was in charge of Rockstar North, the studio where most of the Grand Theft Auto games are made, demanding $ 150 million from publisher Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Rockstar. Benzies believes he is entitled to arrears of royalties.

The demand of Benzies sets put the lawyers he hired. The statement can be read from his legal team that the rift between Benzies and Rockstar was less amicable than the studio did believe . Rockstar made in January announced that Benzies end of 2014 – when the development of Grand Theft Auto V was completed – had taken a sabbatical and during that leave had decided not to return to Rockstar.

That Benzies looks different, it is clear from the statement of his lawyers. Who argue that Benzies was forced by his employer to take a sabbatical. During his sabbatical was found that certain royalties where Benzies right seems to have been not paid. Benzies also claims that the sabbatical was a means to force him to step out of the business.

Benzies suing Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games, Rockstar North, Sam Houser, Dan Houser on. Especially Sam Houser gets there in the statement by the lawyers along. Benzies formed years with the Houser brothers the leading trio at Rockstar and three were in the highest salary of the company. According to lawyers was Benzies certainly intend to return at Rockstar. He wanted to April 1 back to work, but found on arrival that his access card was deactivated. After initially being let in by a porter, he was soon afterwards still asked to leave the property.

Rockstar has now responded to the demand of Benzies. The publisher states which had Benzies behavior and therefore his contract was terminated. For that reason, he is not entitled to the royalties demanded in the lawsuit. Rockstar now spans a lawsuit against Benzies.

Leslie Benzies has 17 years working for the studio in Edinburgh. He began when the studio was called DMA Design and worked as Grand Theft Auto 3 along with the series that Rockstar North, Rockstar and Take-Two has made large.
