Forza Horizon 4 gets hdr support and recommended specs

for 60fps on PC
Benjamin Penrose of the developer Playground Games said at the Gamescom fair that Forza Horizon 4 will receive hdr support on the PC. In addition, the recommended specifications are based on the starting point of 60 instead of 30 images per second.

Penrose, the art director at Playground Games, told PC Gamer that the change to the starting point of 60fps is a change compared to Forza Horizon 3. He reports that there is also a whole collection of new options to put the PC ‘to the limit to drive ‘with graphic settings that can be higher than ultra. What he exactly meant is still unknown.

The starting point of 60fps for the unknown specifications is striking, partly because Ralph Fulton of PlayGround Games told Kotaku that the minimum system requirements are lower than those of Forza Horizon 3 . How much lower is still unclear, but if that is correct then the new game is probably very well optimized.

According to Penrose, the development team is very satisfied with the stability and performance of the game. He states that much has been learned from Forza Horizon 3, a title that he admits that things were not as smooth as they could have been. There were several problems since the release, but according to him there is now also a lot of time spent making Forza Horizon 4 not the same mistakes.

The racing game is also the first Forza Horizon title on the PC to receive support for high dynamic range . Penrose did not give any details about this. Forza Horizon 3 received a patch with the help of hdr support after the release on the Xbox One, but it was not available for the PC.

Forza Horizon 4 continues to have dynamic weather and seasons and will be released on October 2 for the PC and the Xbox One. The game gets a 1080p setting on the Xbox One X in combination with 60 fps, or a 4k option with 30fps.
