France international will ‘fight’ to encrypted messages

The French Interior Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, said Thursday that he wants to fight alongside Germany against the encryption of messages. He wants to do so to set up a European initiative with the possibility of an “international plan of action.”

According to Cazeneuve most of the messages related to the export of terrorism is encrypted and sent. This allows the French intelligence services can intercept more messages of extremists, writes Reuters.

The attacker who cut the throat of a priest in July, according to the report have mainly communicated via telegram. Also, services such as WhatsApp using encrypted end-to-end encryption.

Cazeneuve meets his German counterpart Thomas de Maiziere in Paris on August 23. The two ministers will discuss the proposals made by France.
