From planter to fuel – Electricity from organic material




While consumers put solar panels on their roof more often, the development of other renewable energy technologies continues. Researchers from the University of Wageningen, succeeded in 2010 in order to generate electricity from living plants. Now, four years later, there is the company’s Plant-e emerged from and is the first system into use that with this technique provides little power.

Tweakers was at the opening night of the system to see the results and learn more about the techniques used and future applications.
