Frontier deletes offline mode Elite: Dangerous




The funded through crowdfunding game Elite: Dangerous get no independent offline mode. Developer Frontier Developments believes that the limited mode unacceptable and would be static relative to the online mode.

The aim of the developer of Elite: Dangerous is all players to play in the same universe and actions of players also affect the development of that universe. To create such a world, it is according to Frontier Developments important discoveries of the gamer agree with the findings of other players. The developer says that it is therefore necessary that the player occasionally connect to the server of Elite: Dangerous.

In the forum of the developer is a sequel to the decision. The entire system of Elite: Dangerous would support on the online servers, and in addition, the size of the data could not be translated into an acceptable offline version of the game.

Frontier Developments announced earlier still that Elite: Dangerous would support an offline mode. There was however immediately placed with the caveat that the player could not make use of certain features.

Elite: Dangerous is the sequel to Elite, which was published in 1984. The game will appear on December 16 for Windows; the release of OS X systems must follow a few months later.
