Fujifilm has announced the X-Pro2 system camera. The device features a 24-megapixel sensor of the APS-C format and a hybrid viewfinder that displays both optical and electronic image. Also comes with Fujifilm X-E2S, X70 and a 100-400mm lens.

The Fujifilm X-Pro2 is the successor to the X-Pro1 in 2012. Like that camera, the new model is a device which in appearance reminiscent of measuring seekers as Leica. However, the technique is something else: Fujifilm uses a hybrid viewfinder. Users can get a handle switch between digital or optical display in the viewfinder.

When activating the digital viewfinder will scroll LCD module 0.48 “in the viewfinder the display, according to Fujifilm 2.36 million pixels at a ratio of 4:.. 3 which indicates a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, a improvement compared to the X-Pro1 displaying 800×600 pixels. The magnification is 0,59x, therewith the digital viewfinder image is smaller than with the Fujifilm X-T1, which has 0,77x with one of the largest digital searchers.

So far all had Fujifilm system camera sensor with a resolution up to 16 megapixels. In the X-Pro2 Fujifilm uses its new X-Trans III sensor with 24 megapixel resolution. The range starts at ISO 100 and runs up to 51 200. Like the previous X-trans-chips, it is a CMOS design in which the color filters are applied semi-random. Previous cameras Fujifilm thus were known for their good performance in low light and relatively ‘nice’ display of digital noise. The probability patterns in the noise, which are perceived as disruptive by the sensor design smaller. The new 24-megapixel chip performs will reveal in tests.

With respect to the X-Pro1 is the hybrid autofocus system greatly expanded. The X-273 Pro2 will focus points, 77 of which use phase detection focus. The maximum shooting speed is approximately 8fps. The buffer is there room for 83 JPG files or raw 33’s when using lossless compression. The mechanical shutter shutter speeds up to 1 / 8000th second possible. Fujifilm X-Pro2 also provides an electronic shutter with fastest shutter speed of 1 / 32000e second. Filming is possible in 1080p resolution at up to 60fps and bitrate of 36Mbps. A 4K movie function, which earlier rumors were about and made available on competitive cameras, is missing.

According to Fuji Film is the cover, which is composed of a magnesium alloy, made firmer and better sealed against dust and moisture. There are two memory slots provided for SD memory. Fujifilm brings the X-Pro2 in February on the market. A euro MSRP is at time of writing not yet known, but in the US enters the body $ 1700 cost.

In addition to the Fujifilm X-Pro2 also comes with the X-E2S, a cheaper model, which follows the X-E2. Compared to its predecessor, the innovations relatively small and many new features can be traced to the enhanced firmware, which also for the old model becomes available. The most important innovation is the hardware-based system with 77 focus-off points, which is similar to the system in the Fujifilm X-T10. The camera has the same shutter as the X-Pro2, with an electronic shutter up to 1 / 32.000e second. Although Fujifilm X-Trans II, the same sensor used with 16-megapixel resolution, the ISO range is expanded up to 51 200. The body will loose $ 700 cost.

Also there is a new compact camera with a large sensor, of which the lens is not removable. The Fujifilm X70 is a smaller variant of the models in the X100 series. Unlike its bigger brothers, the new model has no electronic viewfinder; it is the 3 “screen tilt. Also, Fujifilm has chosen a lens with a different focus, from 18,5mm instead of 23mm. Converted to film equivalent, the X70 has a 28mm lens. The maximum aperture of f / 2.8 also a stop less light-sensitive than the f / 2 lenses for the Fujifilm X100 cameras. The sensor used is the 16-megapixel X-Trans-II CMOS, which Fujifilm previously used in cameras like the XT10. Fujifilm camera selling for $ 700 from February onwards.

Earlier Fujifilm already showed prototypes of a 100-400mm lens for the X-Series, now the telephoto zoom is officially announced. In full, it goes like Fujinon lens XF100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR through life. The abbreviations refer among other things, that the lens is sealed against dust and moisture, and is equipped with optical image stabilization. According to Fujifilm delivers the OIS technique to five stops profit. The lens can also be used in combination with the 1.4x tele-converter of the brand. The telephoto zoom will retail for $ 1900.
