Futuremark provides details on upcoming DirectX 12 benchmark 3DMark




Futuremark has announced details about the new 3DMark Time Spy benchmark. The test for graphics cards will offer full DirectX 12 support and use asynchronous compute.

The marketing manager of the 3DMark software confirms full support for async compute opposite VideoCardz. He also argues that the Time Spy benchmark given a place alongside the existing test as Fire Strike.

In addition to supporting async compute Time Spy can handle explicit multi-adapter, a feature that the processing power of multiple graphics cards can be used. Unlike sli or crossfire do not have to be cards of the same type or brand.

Futuremark has released the first teaser images shown from the benchmark, which should serve as a showcase of the capabilities of DirectX 12. Time Spy coming ‘soon’ for all Windows versions of 3DMark, but when is not yet known. The paid version of the package is temporarily on sale for 4.99 euros in the Summer Steam Sale.
