The picture quality of tablets has improved in recent years with great strides. If you want an iPad 1 up there or one of the first tablets with Android, probably equally surprised by the relatively low resolution and moderate color reproduction. Apple was at one time a big step when it passed on Retina displays, with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. With Android tablets was first chosen for the intermediate step to 1920×1200 pixels. Meanwhile, many manufacturers are a little further and they rest their high-end tablets with screens that have a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels.
We have now arrived at a point where increasing the resolution is less necessary than before and therefore manufacturers focus on other aspects of image quality. However, there is another area where significant gains can still be made: the contrast. A high contrast has the result that an impressive display screen that looks and color of the screen appear to splash. This is improved in LCD screens in recent years, but for the big step has to be looked at a different technique: oled.
Currently, Samsung is the only manufacturer that the technology in-house to provide tablets of OLED screens in this summer the company uses this technology for a new tablet series: Galaxy Tab S. In this line Samsung comes with a 8,4 ‘- and a 10.5 “model, both with an OLED screen and both with the high resolution of 2560×1600 pixels.
We looked in recent weeks extensively to both models for text, web pages and video, view photos and apps, in light and in darkness. In addition, we used our specialized measuring equipment to return the screens inside and see how much better they are than what we were used to seeing.Viewing:-205
