Gamer builds spaceship cockpit with DLP projectors for Elite: Dangerous




A handy German gamer has a cockpit built resembling the cockpit of a futuristic spaceship. Three DLP projectors used for projection. The builder plays the game Elite: Dangerous to the system.

The German Mark Boesen for his “spaceship” three TH681 BenQ DLP projectors juxtaposed, as reported Polygon. On a homemade instrument panel three 10.1 “-touchscreens processed for various game controls. Also a Saitek X52 Pro joystick in the cockpit present, along with a Logitech G19 keyboard. Furthermore Boesen has placed a head tracker and he can through a microphone give voice commands.

The graphics on the three projectors are generated using two Crossfire placed Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC video cards. Using AMD’s Eyefinity is a resolution of 5760×1080 pixels generated. The sound comes from the Logitech Z-5500 speakers in a 5.1 setup.

Boesen the cockpit built for the game Elite: Dangerous, a space-sim that opens next month. How the installation cost, the German will not lose.
