GameSpy draws on 31 May the plug from the master servers




The GameSpy Master servers are disabled on May 31. The servers, mainly lobbies, matchmaking and leaderboards care, supporting older games. Some of those games are migrating to other services, and other online games will not work anymore.

A number of well-known titles that still use GameSpys servers are the Arma games, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, Stalker: Call of Pripyat, Halo on the PC and Saints Row 2. It is still unclear what games are transferred to other Internet infrastructure and which games will soon faced with an online component that does not work anymore. It seems inevitable that last for some games: for older titles that are not often played, it is not financially attractive to even work in the stabbing migration to another online service. With this announcement, the last piece of the gaming service, the web will disappear. GameSpy has existed since the late 90s.
