Find a Question:
GameStop’s games Ready At Dawn- and Frozenbyte studios spend
US retail chain GameStop started his own publisher Game Trust and will work together with several well-known game studios, including Insomniac Games, Frozenbyte, Ready At Dawn and Tequila Works.
With Game Trust GameStop will mainly go on the path of non-traditional game publishing. The first game in which the new publisher comes along is Song of the Deep Insomniac Games. Song of the Deep was announced in January.
The publisher calls itself “non traditional” because it does not say to interfere with the creative process. The independent game studios should it take the lead. Game Trust only comes with a global platform for selling games.
This will require the publisher ‘exclusive deals’ closing both online and physical stores so that games can be offered in various forms, such as PC, console, physical and virtual reality.
GameStop announced shortly be putting more developers where the interests are defending.
The retailer has about 1500 stores in Europe and worldwide total of about 6900 stores. In addition, the chain has an online marketplace. The worldwide major player has no stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, but in countries such as Germany, the UK and France.
