Gearbox add microtransactions to Battle Born
Gearbox Thursday brings an update for Battle Born which adds to the game microtransactions. Players can buy Platinum credits with real money and spend on taunts and skins. According to the developer it is only cosmetic upgrades.
“We know what you’re thinking,” writes 2K Games. It is referring to the negative feelings that many gamers have microtransactions. “Do not worry,” the publisher added. The update that introduces the in-game currency, only adds the ability for players to purchase new skins and taunts for their characters, these cosmetic enhancements provide any gameplay advantage.
It is not possible to obtain the upgrade without having to pay. The advent of micro transactions previously announced by Gearbox and will be introduced on Thursday. A skin takes 420 Platinum, for a taunt must be 230 Platinum counted down. There are several Platinum Packs for sale, starting at 230 Platinum for $ 1.99 until 9300 Platinum for $ 49.99.
The credits can be purchased through the PlayStation Network, Xbox Store or Steam Wallet and spend in the marketplace of the game. The publisher emphasizes that Battle Born get free new content in the future, including five new heroes, competitive multiplayer maps and new game modes.
