According to Rod Fergusson, head of development studio The Coalition has little Xbox One S more power than the original Xbox One. Gears of War 4 would therefore run better on the new model. Microsoft has not yet given details about the hardware.

Fergusson said in an interview with Polygon that the Xbox One S extra GPU and CPU power, which the developer commitment to the development of Gears of War 4. The game uses a dynamic resolution in a single frame rate of 30fps and in multiplayer to maintain a frame rate of 60fps. On the Xbox One S would be the game run smoother, with less loss of resolution or drops in frame rate, compared to Xbox One. How large the difference is between the two consoles does not give to the developer.

Microsoft announced the Xbox One S Monday as a smaller version of the Xbox One, with support for 4K video and HDR rendering. More computing power was not mentioned and that was not in line with expectations. Consoles are regularly hardware revisions, wherein components to be made smaller and more economical, without anything to change the speed of the hardware . This is particularly easy for developers, but they do not need to take account of a system configuration.

Possibly, Microsoft has with the Xbox One S decided anyway to make some changes to ensure a change in performance. It could for example include higher clock speeds of AMD APU. It is not likely that the differences will be very large. The console manufacturer itself has not yet brought out on any performance improvements. The Xbox One S is available in August for prices starting from 299 euros. Gears of War 4 comes out on October 11th.
