German Chancellor will get a new smartphone. Angela Merkel (Angela Merkel) is going to buy for budget funds of about 10 000 copies of protected smartphones worth $ 31 million, writes the business paper Bloomberg.
This summer, the German government will receive the first of the 9600 protected smartphones. Last year, technology companies were invited to tender for the supply of smartphones for ministry officials, diplomats, and other officials who work with classified documents and are protected from eavesdropping link.
The winners of the tender are: T-Systems, Frankfurt division Deutsche Telekom, and Secusmart, a specialist in mobile security, with headquarters in Düsseldorf.
Secusmart uses phones Blackberry . The government will get them in July. Application store will provide the company mediaTest digital from Hanover.
T-Systems is working with the products of Samsung Electronics. Smartphones allow the company to switch between normal and safe mode of communication without having to reboot the device.
The cost of one secure phone will be around 2500 euros.
