German hoarding old mobile phones: currently more than 100 million

BITKOM has once again raised numbers. It’s about old cell phones in German households, which apparently neither recycled nor be resold. To what extent, however, you can trust such numbers in 1006 respondents aged 14 years is questionable, but the tendency should be visible even in such a small number. Currently, 106 million unused cell phones have to reside in German households, 24% more than last year. Blame should be the many technical innovations and the large sales of smartphones.

Three quarters of respondents currently have at least one old mobile at home, 24% of those two old devices. After a further 7% have three old cell phones, 9% say that they have 4 or more equipment at home. Only a third (33%) said that they sell their old phones, 28% of respondents give away old equipment. Tips for resale or recycling of waste has BITKOM also in stock, finally, the devices contain valuable raw materials.

Of course you should delete their personal information from the devices, whether they be recycled, you give away the device or sell it. The return on the mobile operator is the same even for a good cause. The network operators donate per unit collected a small amount of various projects. If you want to dispose of his unit, it does not belong in household waste, but to a recycling center. Defective batteries can be disposed of there as well, just as you can when buying new ones providing these comments and the merchants.

And now where his mouth is, how many devices you have lying around unused at home? I too am a Used Mobile Phone Messi and have at least 10 -15 units here. Most of them are Nokia’s Symbian operating system.
