GfK: 2-in-1 devices to drive growth in Dutch PC market




Partly thanks to 2-in-1 device that users can use as laptop and tablet PC market grew in the Netherlands in recent months. Revenue from sales of tablets and e-readers plunging right, partly because price competition.

Exact figures indicate analyst firm GfK, but it says , however, that the 2-in-1 devices have contributed to the growth of the PC market in the Netherlands. Last quarter, the growth was mainly because Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP, allowing businesses and consumers went looking for new hardware.

The sale of media players is also increasing and, according to the analyst firm is that by selling Google’s HDMI dongle Chromecast. Meanwhile, it goes bad with the sale of tablets and e-readers: the turnover of both product fell by more than 10 percent compared to the same period last year, GfK notes. That is not only because people buy fewer copies, but also because the prices are getting lower by increasing competition.
