Gigabyte launches motherboards with AM1 socket for loose-Kabini APUs




Gigabyte has released two motherboards AMD AM1 socket provided. This makes them suitable for loose-Kabini APU, which reportedly would come. Available in March Until now, AMD’s Kabini only appeared as soldered APU.

Gigabytes AM1M-S2P – and AM1M-S2H motherboards are built around the AMD AM1 socket in a micro-ATX form factor. Both boards can accommodate two DDR3 memory bars and PCI-E 2.0 x16, PCI-E x1, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and S / PDIF. The S2P version also benefits from an LPT parallel port and a serial com port, while the S2H on hdmi and a second PCI-E x1 interface.

The signs of Gigabyte are among the first with AMD’s Socket AM1. This is the socket that loose-Kabini APU’s support and who will also need to provide to the successor Beema.
