God of War developer SCE Santa Monica deletes jobs




There are redundant in God of War developer Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica. How many people on the streets, is not known, but the studio is not shut down. The reason for the layoff may cancel a never-announced game.

Whether the layoffs are a result of the disappointing sales of God of War: Ascension or because not spelled-mentioned project developer has just canceled, know even one of the former employees of SCE Santa Monica is not. He says also that since the release of God of War 3, nearly four years ago, it was unannounced project development. Sony does not want to know how many employees are involved, but said that the affected employees be given severance pay and further guidance.

It is striking that SCE Santa Monica still moved in January of this year to a new studio in Los Angeles. Shannon Studs Till, CEO of the studio, writes on the PlayStation Blog that the SCE Santa Monica “to a new location moves to come in this new era for the studio. Meet the needs of our growing team” At the time of the blog post had the studio more than 220 employees.

The non-unnamed project might be. Been a science-fiction game At the San Diego Comic-Con 2013 had Michael Angeli, the writer of the Battlestar Galactica television series, knowing that he was working on a game with SCE Santa Monica, but it was not a God of War game. Moreover, there is an easter egg in God of War: Ascension which also suggests that the studio was working on a sci-fi game, reports Eurogamer.
