Gom Player logo (60 pix) Gretech has released a new version of GOM Player. This free media player developed by Gretech and is compatible with Windows XP or higher. GOM Player comes with several popular codecs, so that Windows does not need to be installed separately. If a file is played where the codec is not present, then it can be automatically retrieved from the codec finder and added. Further support is provided for playback of incomplete files and course subtitle. The installer is a AVG toolbar and Gretech’s Audio Player delivered, but their installation is optional. In this release, the following changes and improvements:

Minimum System Requirements were updated:
OS: Windows 8.1 (32bit/64bit), 8 (32bit/64bit), 7 (32bit/64bit), Vista (32bit/64bit), XP SP2 or higher.
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 AMD Athlon 64 or better?
If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP SP1, or if you do not meet the requirements listed above CPU, please download and install the compatible version: GOM Media Player (GOMPLAYEREN2KSETUP.EXE). The Windows 2000 / XP SP1 compatible version is the same as the original GOM Media Player, just with the following changes:

“Play in a single thread” feature will be set to Off by default
This feature will be set to off automatically when installing version (either a clean install or an overwrite of the previous version), and / or when resetting the software to defaults from the preferences window.
This feature can still be turned back on manually from the preferences window
Playback support for shortcut (. Lnk) files has added leg
The target file or. Lnk shortcut files can now be played by opening the. Lnk file with GOM Media Player (as long as the target file is a supported file format).
Corrected an issue where DAT file associations were not being unapplied Correctly
Altered the Codec Finder window so That it can be used in Conjunction with voice-command software
Improved the behavior of the Subtitle Explorer window to match the selected subtitle positioning
Addressed and fixed a security issue related to files being accessed via URLs
Enhanced the security of the installer package (GOMPLAYERENSETUP.EXE)
