Google announces that Chromecast now supports 50Hz HDMI output. Users can turn on the option in the advanced settings. The update enables playback of videos with speed of 50fps and 25fps without judder possible.

Chromecast 50Hz By popular demand, Google has support for 50Hz added to the Chromecast. Both the first version in 2013 and the new 2015 version, the option is available in the menu for advanced settings after the latest firmware installed.

Users of the Chromecast complain since the introduction of the lack of 50Hz support. Because the device initially uitstuurde only a 60Hz signal, it was not possible to imagery with a framerate of 50fps or 25fps without judder play.

Why it took so long is not known. Also, presumably not all users happy, because although the Chromecast now 60Hz and 50Hz support, there is no native 24Hz support. Also, the Chromecast can not, on the basis of the image material itself to adjust the output.
