Google adds Tap to Search to Chrome for Android

Google Tap the Search function to released in Chrome for Android. When users select a word or phrase, the browser automatically starts a search. With a swipe up users can see the results.

Google has the server-side function activated, discovered the Dutch site DroidApp. The function works by selecting a word or phrase, and the selected text appears at the bottom image with a Google logo.

By then the window with the Google logo to push up a window with the search results will appear. It seems that it is regular results, which therefore includes such apps and maps as Google deems relevant.

Users can disable the feature in the settings. It is unknown if anyone is in charge of the function, but it seems that the search giant has activated the feature in many people.
