Google blames disappointing sales growth to restricted stock Nexus 6
Google claims to have insufficient resources to build the Nexus 6 in order to meet demand and this would have had a negative impact on sales. The company also claims to have a break inserted for Google Glass.
“The Nexus 6 was well received, but we had real problems and could not get enough supplies to meet the demand that we expected,” said CFO at Google, Patrick Pichette. In fact he called the Nexus 7, but he corrected himself later. He mentioned the limited stocks one of the reasons that had a negative impact on sales growth.
Furthermore, Google revealed that Google Glass did not meet the expectations. “If teams can not overcome obstacles, but we think there are opportunities, we ask them to take a break and strategy to provide a reset, such as Google Glass,” said Pichette. These were different wording from mid-January, when Google asked to bring that production stopped to let the project ‘graduation’ and ‘concept to reality. ”
The statements were made during the disclosure of the quarterly and annual figures. The quarterly sales rose compared with a year earlier by 15 percent to $ 18.1 billion, converted 15.9 billion. Earnings were $ 4.76 billion, or 4.2 billion euros. In 2014, Google earned $ 66 billion in sales, 19 percent more than in 2013. Despite increases Google struggled with rising costs and declining revenue per ad displayed by the increased use of mobile phones.Viewing:-210
